Hello, I am currently looking for a loose diamond to set in an engagement ring for my girlfriend. The jewelry store I am purchasing the setting from does not have a diamond like the one I want in my price range, but after looking around at both James Allen and Blue Nile, it seems that what I’m looking for is out there. I’m going for a radiant cut diamond, E or F color, VVS-VS clarity, and 0.65-0.85 carats (my girlfriend has small hands and doesn’t want much bigger than that, even if it’s possible in the budget.) My price point is $2,500 at the highest, but I would really like to keep it around or under $2,250. I’d appreciate your thoughts and advice! Thank you.
I’d be happy to help, but I think you should rethink your parameters:

Thanks for the articles. They are very insightful. With those in mind, I would certainly be happy with an eye clean SI or even I diamond like the one you refer to in the article. Based on the color article, you say color is an 8 on a scale of 1-10 in terms of importance for radiant cut. What colors would you recommend looking for?
H+.
This would be my recommendation.
That’s a great looking diamond. I was wondering your thoughts on this one, solely to help bring my price down:

The one I picked was far better. The cut on this one is too deep.
