I bought a diamond from James Allen after reading positive reviews from your site and others. My question is: how do I know I’m getting the real deal? I’m getting a GIA report but how do I know my diamond is the same one? I know I could take it to a gemologist but I’m afraid the cost would be too high.
You mention buying diamonds from James Allen, so I assume you were satisfied that they sold you what you saw online?
I’d just like some confirmation that I made the right decision in buying a diamond from them.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Can you send me the GIA report so I can take a look at the diamond?
Attached is the GIA rpt. I spent so many hours researching to get the best diamond for my small budget. I knew it had some flaws but my main concern was cut so I could get the best brilliance and fire. To my eye, it looks good in that respect.
I had already ordered the ring when I read the GIA report in more detail and noticed the ‘feather’. Of course, I had seen the magnification but did not know that one of the flaws was a feather. James Allen said their gemologist would check that and if the diamond looked bad… Like it could possibly break… They would not sell it to me.
I guess my main concern now is that I got the diamond I paid for. I know you can’t see the diamond that I received. Would you recommend I see a gemologist? I found one in Dallas who is GIA certified. Thanks so much for any input you can give me.
You’re very welcome, I’m glad I can help.
Thank you for sending me the GIA report. Your diamond is beautifully cut and if it is eye-clean, you got yourself a great value.
Luckily, I found what I was hoping to find in the report. It says that your diamond is inscribed with the GIA’s report number. So you can easily check the stone yourself (using a loupe) and see that the number on the diamond matches with the number in the report. Problem solved.
Thanks for all your help.
I’ll see about getting a loupe… I’ve been wanting to but just have not done it. I’m excited to see the diamond magnified in person.
Have a great day.
You’re welcome. Let me know how it looks then.
