To make it short…
1) My approximate budget is $5000-6000
2) I plan on using white gold
3) Either a “Tiffany” style setting for Round Cut or a “Tiffany Grace” or “Tiffany Princess” style setting for Princess Cut
I would love a 1.25-1.5 carat diamond, but I’m pretty sure it’s near impossible to get one with my budget.
Thanks!
I would recommend this diamond for you:

Its a fantastic cut, eye-clean and excellent value. Here is an alternative that is also great, just a bit pricier:

What do you think?
Wow, those are great possibilities. I will still be searching a bit more before I actually finalize.
Thanks!
Keep me posted.
So I have changed my mind and decided to go for a 1 carat round diamond. Right now I’m comparing 2:
and
https://cdn4.jamesallen.com/Sets/Diamond/76943/cert.jpg
The bluenile one has an “excellent” cut grade whereas the jamesallen one has “very good.” Is there any actual difference if one would compare the diamonds next to each other?
Thanks!
You didn’t send me the prices, so I can’t comment more accurately. But I wouldn’t buy either of those. The table is far too big on the BN diamond and, as you noticed, the JA diamond got a VG grade (it seems like its for the pavilion angle).
Oh okay. Well I’m actually looking for a round now inbetween 1-1.25 carats and my limit just for the diamond is about 6100-6200 with a medium blue fluorescence (based on reading from your site).
Thanks!
I’d chose one of these over that:

Oh I’m sorry. The Blue Nile is 5,899 and the James Allen is 5,900. Out of curiosity and to help me better understand, what makes the one’s you linked me better than the ones I linked?
Once again, thanks for your help.
Firstly, they are a better color. I’m sorry, I forgot you were going with the Grace setting. I thought you were going with a Halo (which would need an H color). Here is what I would actually recommend this diamond:
The cut is far superior to the two you showed. The BN diamond’s table is far too large and I’m not a huge fan of the original JA diamond (the VG is based on the crown angle it seems).
At the end of the day, once a diamond is eye-clean its eye-clean. You are better off getting a better cut diamond than paying extra for a quality you won’t see with your eye.
Oh okay. I actually like the price on this one. I’ll check it out on my computer at home once I’m off work.
…
Just wanted your opinion on the following compared to the one you recommended:
I know it’s not a big difference, but still wanted to know which would be better to purchase and why. Thanks so much for your help!
…
I’m sorry, I saw one more. I’ll just relink all three…

Thanks!
The I VS1 is ok, but its not better than the I SI1. I guess its only $100 more, so you can get it for piece of mind.
I bought the I SI1 that you recommended. The total was about $6600 and was appraised for $9999.99. She loved it!
Thanks again!
