I’ve been looking at knife edge solitaire settings between 2-2.5 mm in platinum on James Allen. Looking to spend about $3k to 3.5 on a diamond, and my goal is really just the best looking “eye-clean” diamond I can get. I’ve been looking at ideal cut, VS2 clarity, H color around .75 carat with some fluorescence to get the best bang for my buck but a lot of it looks the same to me. Sorry to bother you but I really appreciate your help as soon as possible!
Thanks!
Do you want a round diamond? I just want to make sure.
I am looking for a round diamond. My search just became a little less urgent because I was looking at getting a handmade James Allen setting and it looks like there’s no way I can get everything together before next Sunday, so now I won’t need it until the beginning of next month. I appreciate the quick response though, and any help you can still give me is definitely greatly appreciated! I am having a hard time telling from the pictures what exactly the diamond will look like in person. Thank you!
Is this custom setting a pave/sidestone type setting? That affects the color. I know you mentioned the knife edge, but I want to be sure.
It is just a solitaire setting I was thinking of. Here is a link:
Thanks again, I appreciate the help.
Ok, I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page. You can easily drop to I color and jump up in size.

I love this diamond for you. Its bright, eye-clean and a great value. What do you think?
That looks pretty great to me! The only question I have is about the black spot in the upper center in the pictures, is that just showing up because the image is magnified? Or is that something I might have to cover up with a prong or something like that? Thanks for the help!
…
I was just looking at the picture again and the diamond almost seems a bit cloudy to me. I don’t know if it’s the lighting or angle or what it just doesn’t seem completely clear. Could that be because of the color or clarity or is it just my imagination? Or is it just that that probably wouldn’t be noticeable in person? Thanks again for the help!
That dot is minuscule. Keep in mind that the photograph is very magnified. You will not see that with the naked eye.
Sounds good to me, I have no experience with stuff like this so it’s hard for me to tell. Could you notice any of the cloudiness that I was talking about or am I just going crazy? Thanks again for your help!
There is no cloudiness on that diamond.
OK. Maybe just my imagination then. Again I really appreciate your help!
Let me know how it looks when it arrives.
I finally got the ring earlier this month. I think I was thrown off by how big the pictures were but it totally makes sense now that those imperfections are not visible. The ring looks awesome! It is probably the shiniest thing I have ever seen, and she absolutely loves it. I really appreciate the help finding this diamond! It is awesome and I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you!
