Hi. I’m looking for a diamond to keep as an investment, where its value will be appreciated over time. I have these 3 from Blue Nile in mind. I particularly like the color ones over the clear one. However, some told me that it would be easier to resell the clear diamond than the color one. Your opinion please on which one is better for resale and which one is better for value appreciation. Last but not least, would you be able to locate a better deal elsewhere? thku

From an investment perspective, pink color all day, any day, twice on Wednesdays. A white or yellowish diamond doesn’t even get in the ballpark with pink diamonds.
That said since you are looking at this for an investment purpose, your best bet is to value color over size. You are better off with a smaller diamond that has a stronger pink hue than a larger diamond that is light pink.

Theoretically, this is a better choice. But I found some far better options for you here that seem to be more in line with your budget:

www.leibish.com/pink-diamonds/fancy-intense-pink-radiant-24115#a_aid=y
These are far better choices for an investment.
What do you think?
I don’t like any of those. I don’t like the shapes. Those at Leibish have visible inclusions. If you have any other recommendations please send them over. thx
The 0.44ct radiant on Leibish has only very small crystals on its table, but those aren’t going to be visible at all.
I’m happy to send you alternatives, but I feel very strongly that you need to adjust your priorities. Given your budget, you will not be able to get a nice color diamond and a higher clarity grade on the diamond for less than $80,000ish. Looking at other sites, this was the type of diamond I would pick:
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/fancy-color/pink/emerald-cut/0.53-carat-vs1-clarity-sku-155614?a_aid=dmnd1357
Its double the price. Which means you need to make some sacrifices. The focus for you should be on color intensity then size. Those are the major driving forces when it comes to value of a fancy color diamond. Cut and clarity would take a backseat (I know that is counter to our general advice, but our clarity/cut articles are focused on helping people get the biggest/best looking white diamond on a budget usually under $15,000. Looking at diamonds as investments is a whole different animal.
Here is another option.
