Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m looking for an engagement ring.
I would like it to be a simple design, and if possible, to have a very good ratio between what you pay and what you get.
For the budget, around 1400$ I had in mind to spend on this ring.
Best regards.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations for you, but I need a little more info.
What shape diamond are you looking for?
What style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones/halo) and metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) do you want to use? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
For the shape of the diamond, I’m looking for the round or princess cut.
Metal 14k white gold, and solitaire style.
This is my recommendation:
Blue Nile LD10110227
Blue Nile LD10025664
Blue Nile LD07524685 (this one looks promising, but you’d have to ask for a photo)
They are well cut and all of them will be very brilliant.
What do you think?
Thank you for the recommendations. Can I see some diamond from James Allen as well?
You’re welcome.

Thank you for the fast reply.
I have decided to go with the princess cut in the end.
This one, Blue Nile LD10025664 that you recommended comes as the best buy.
I like it too, given the specs and the price, it’s a great value.
Today I’ll be making an order.
Thank you very much for the guidance and advice for the last few days in this process of choosing the ring.
After the work today, I went in the “mortar and brick” store, just to see what I can get in that price range, and the result was: For a little bit less than 70$, I can only get a 0,10-carat ring, with the similar diamond attributes.
Once again, thank you for everything.
That’s great news! I’m glad I could help you.
