Hi, I came across a diamond going for $8995.00, and I wanted to know if it’s a good deal or not.
I have listed the link to the IGI report below.
Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Your site is great!

I would stay away from that diamond at any price. IGI is a weak certificate. The problems are as follows:
a) The color is probably J and the clarity is probably SI2. Also, the fluorescence is probably very strong blue which is a huge issue.
b) The cut is horrific on the diamond. IGI hides it because they don’t offer the specs on the page. But the depth of the diamond is way outside the normal range (its about 64%).
Thank you! I’m going to cancel the purchase.
Any suggestions/standards I should follow when looking to purchase another loose diamond?
I assume one would definitely be GIA certified.

I really like both of these. You would need JA to have their gemologist inspect the first one to ensure that the fluorescence doesn’t cause haziness. If it doesn’t, that one is the winner.
Thanks you very much! I appreciate you taking the time to send me this.
My pleasure. Let me know what you decide to do in the end.
Will do. Thanks!
