Hi, I’m looking for a round shaped diamond to go with a yellow gold, plain solitaire, 4-prong setting. $4000 budget. As big as I can get for a clean diamond. I’ve read a few of your articles but am having trouble knowing if the diamond will be clean to the naked eye. A lot of the diamonds seem to show a lot of imperfections when magnified so greatly on the websites. Could an imperfection like one this big be hidden by the setting? Also, does the idea that medium florescence improves the appearance of color hold true with the yellow gold setting?
That is a fantastic value. I’m not sure its 100% eye-clean, but the inclusion is on the edge and can be covered by a prong. That will make most of it disappear and the rest will blend in with the prong. I think you have yourself a winner.
Thank you for your feedback. I actually have my eye on a new diamond. I’ve upped my budget amount. I’ve followed the advice on your site and dropped down to a K color in order to get a higher weight. I really like this one. I plan on setting it on a solitaire yellow gold band. But, I’m really concerned about the K color. Will it appear too warm?
In a yellow gold, that diamond is fine.
