OK, little confused, do you sell diamonds or just find them? I’m looking for around a ct. diamond rbs cut.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations for you, but I need a little more info.
What shape diamond are you looking for?
What style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones/halo) and metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) do you want to use? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
Can you give me your ballpark figure of what you’re planning to spend? Then I’ll be able to help you more.
Thank you for your response. I am looking for a rvc diamond solitaire. I’m guessing you deal in only diamonds, not rings? I have been shopping around for an engagement ring and seen your writeup about diamonds, noticed also that your pricing to be much cheaper than local jewelers, though a little afraid of purchasing a ring or diamond online. I’m looking for just under one ct. .98 or .99 I want a very clear diamond because it’s being set alone with smaller diamonds on either side. My budget price for ring and diamonds is around 5000. Thank you in advance.
We don’t really recommend buying diamonds locally, unless you find a really good value and reputable jeweler. We think that the best bang for your buck is purchasing a diamond from an online retailer. The average markup for an online retailer is 14-19%. For good brick and mortar jewelers (that don’t scam you) it’s 35-100%. Luxury brands mark up 100-300%. It’s possible you can find a good value in a store (by good value, I mean not much more expensive than an online retailer), but you are far more likely to fall into a sales trap.
If you are looking for the whole ring, I can find some settings for you. No worries.
Have a look at this combination:
Blue Nile Classic Four Prong Engagement Ring
Blue Nile LD07954651
Blue Nile LD07274489
These diamonds are superbly cut and either of them will be incredibly brilliant.
What do you think?
For the ring was looking for a little more, like three smaller diamonds on each side but something unique, more unique. From what I have been seeing online shopping I didn’t really see any rbc diamonds that were so very expensive, not saying they are too much but seem high priced compared to what I have been finding, for what are said to be similar clarity and color.
…..
Here are some that I have been considering to buy. Your thoughts?
You mentioned a solitaire setting, so I sent you a solitaire. For a pave, I’d recommend going higher in color to make sure there won’t be any warmish tones in it.
Do the diamonds from eBay come with certificates?
Yeah, I didn’t mean to say solitaire. I just meant no Halo. And yes most of them do come with certificates. I would never buy one without one.
……
And I want it to be unique.
……
Thank you very much for your time and patience with me, I’m 34 never been married, close several times but was just never right. so I really know very little about ring shopping or rings in general.
I understand your situation and I’m happy to make this process easier on you.
Do the diamonds come with GIA/AGS certificate? These are the most accurate. There are many other labs out there that are less consistent and inflate the color/clarity grades by at least one.
How about something like this?
Blue Nile Petite Diamond Engagement Ring
Blue Nile LD07957623
The cut on this diamond is stunning.
OK, yeah, I am liking that ring but color is an I, that’s about where you can see some yellowing correct? What is the price difference for like a G color? And yes they come GIA certified off of eBay.
Why would I recommend a yellow diamond? For the type of the setting you picked, I color is perfectly fine, the diamond will still look beautiful and white. We don’t think it makes sense to pay a premium for higher color grades and get the same look for the naked eye with a significant price difference: www.diamonds.pro/diamond-color.
OK, I’m sorry I’m no diamond expert. I did find a ring that I really liked on the Allen site. It’s the spiral tension ring. What are your thoughts on that ring? Looks like diamond would fall out? And is under one CT. Going to look tiny in that ring? And color?
Do you mean this ring?

It looks very unique. I wouldn’t worry about the diamond falling out. Their settings are of a great quality. For this ring, you can easily drop to a color J and it’ll still look fantastic.
