Hi, I’m looking for a round diamond over 1 carat for an engagement ring. I would love perfect cut, better than J color, and inclusion invisible to the naked eye, size the larger the better. I have $9,000 budget for the stone.
Looking forward! Thank you!
Can you also tell me what style of setting (solitaire, halo, pave or other) and metal (platinum/white or yellow gold) you’re going to use? Different settings suit certain colors better. I want to make sure that the stone looks colorless.

Then I’ll be happy to help you with the search.
Hi, thanks for your response. Additional to the diamond requirements, I’d like to control the total cost within $12,000. My girlfriend loves pave settings, preferably with a six prong. Metal needs to be platinum.
I’ve found one combination from Brian Gavin, link:

I’d love your opinion or other recommendations.
Also, do you happen to know the best practice to ship the ring to mainland China, while avoiding the high tax?
Thank you for the information.
Have a look at this diamond I found for your setting:

A J color diamond from Brian Gavin is great for the setting you like. This stone is 1.033 carat. It still leaves some space in your budget.
At the same time, I can’t really help you with importing the stone into China without paying taxes. So you might want to need the extra costs for this.
Let me know what you think.
Thank you!
How would you compare these stones with the one you recommended? Cost set aside. I’m still thinking about a larger one – would they make a difference visually?
I’m afraid that the 1.357 carat stone has eye-visible inclusions right on the table. That’s why I don’t recommend this stone. But if you wish for a bigger stone, the 1.304 carat is a great option.
If you don’t mind spending more, go for this diamond. It’s perfect.
Thank you for your help along the way. I want to do one last check. I’ve reserved this 1.658 ct diamond from Brian Gavin. Could you give me an opinion whether the inclusion could be seen from naked eye?
Thank you!
Hi, I’m afraid that this inclusion right on the table will also be eye-visible. That’s why I’d stick with the 1.304 carat stone.
Let me know what you decide.
