Hi, I read your review of James Allen, it was very helpful. I’m looking for a princess cut diamond that has an ideal cut, G colour, clarity SI2 and a max budget of AUS$ 5500 not including the setting.
I had a look at the diamonds they had but my issue is how do I separate the bad inclusions from the good ones? As far as clarity is concerned, are the black or colourless ones preferable? And which is least visible to the naked eye?
Thanks for the help
I’d be happy to make some recommendations for you, but I need a little more info.
What style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones/halo) and metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) do you want to use? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
I wouldn’t recommend getting an SI2 clarity for princess cuts. There’s a chance of the inclusions in the corners of the diamond which can increase the chances of chipping. It’s better to stay with SI1+ to be on the safe side.
Thanks for the help. I am looking for a rose gold setting solitaire or pave.
Thank you for the additional info.
For a rose gold solitaire/pave setting, I color is our usual recommendation and it looks great. There’s no need to go higher than that.

These diamonds are well cut, eye-clean and either of them will make a beautiful ring. What do you think?
Thank you so much, I love them! They are what I was looking for. I prefer the first one as it allows me to maximize on the setting. How do I go about crediting you for the sale?
You’re welcome, I’m glad you like it.
