Q&A: Choosing an Oval Diamond for a White Gold Halo Pave Setting with a $3k Budget

 First, I would like to thank you for all the information you offer in your website. It is extremely useful.

We are looking for an Oval cut diamond and I would like to have the best option possible from James Allen. The budget is around $3K.

I would like an Oval cut diamond and I think my best choice to be close to the budget is a 0.50-0.60 carat diamond. I would LOVE something closer to a carat, but dont think is realistic.
I also would like color D-G (don’t really like H, I think they are too yellow).
I am considering a white gold halo pave setting.

 Thank you for your prompt reply. Regarding the budget – the $3K is for diamond and setting.

I was thinking to go with a pave 14K white gold setting, pave and halo (to make the diamond ‘look bigger”) and would like for the stone to cover most of the top of setting. I dont want a setting that will be too big for the stone.

I am looking for something simple and not very usual and for a diamond that will look good to the naked eye. Please feel free to refer to any other diamond shape/setting if you think we can get more out of it…
