Hello! Been learning lots from your site – really appreciate all the info!
I’m looking at getting a 1ish carat asscher cut for hopefully a bit less than 6k. I know clarity is pretty important with this cut because it’s so… clear. 🙂 I’m looking at a platinum halo setting (this one: https://www.jamesallen.com/wedding-rings/classic/platinum-pave-set-engagement-ring-asscher-center-item-18468?a_aid=dmnd1357)
This is the cut I’m considering – thoughts? https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/asscher-cut/1.04-carat-g-color-vvs1-clarity-sku-240365?a_aid=dmnd1357
Can I get something bigger for around that price?
Thanks!
It seems like you have this diamond buying process down pat. I love the diamond you selected.
Let me know how it looks when it arrives.
Thanks for the info – one always wonders if one will actually get a reply on the internet – you don’t disappoint!
I’ve been obsessing about this for a couple days and came across this one: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/asscher-cut/1.01-carat-f-color-vs1-clarity-sku-191419?a_aid=dmnd1357
It’s a smaller diamond, but the depth is so short it will actually seem bigger! I’m struggling to see any eye-obvious inclusions. This is the previous cut for comparison: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/asscher-cut/1.04-carat-g-color-vvs1-clarity-sku-240365?a_aid=dmnd1357
Thoughts? Thanks again.
I would stick with the original. The table is too big on that diamond and its causing the black windowing.
Okay, great! I was wondering if that was just a lighting anomaly or what! Just ordered – thanks very much for your help!
My pleasure. Let me know how it looks when it arrives.
