I’m in the market for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I had picked one out at Kay and now after reading your article, a lot of uncertainty has developed. I can afford an 1800-2000$ ring. But I would really like to finance this. This is my reason for choosing Kay. Can you help me find a great deal that I can be financed by? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for the response. Out of the three links you send I am partial to the Blue Nile’s one. I have done research and have read the review your company had made about them. What steps do you think I should take upon proceeding with them? I have educated myself as much as possible on cut, clarity, carat, and so forth. However I am far from a gemologist and still quite unsure what I am doing.
Could I send you a picture and the description of the stone I picked and get your feedback on where I stand with it?
Thank you.
That’s a very nice diamond. However, there is no reason to pay that much. Look what alternative I found:
Blue Nile LD08278236
You should request the actual photo for that diamond as well to know if there is any significant amount of black windowing effect, but other than that, it’s an amazing diamond so far.
Wow, that’s great. I would like to stay at the price of 1800. In your opinion should I select a better setting or a better diamond. I just changed the ring to the diamond you sent and changed the setting to a better one. What is your opinion?
If ~0.30ct diamond is what you want then you don’t have to buy anything more expensive. As for the setting, pick the one you like the most. Both you showed me were perfect. The new one has more carat weight, so if that’s what you want, then go for it.
