Thanks for all the great info on this site. It seems you guys don’t necessarily steer people towards Blue Nile, but after looking at a lot of sites and stones in person, they seem to bring the best value for what I’m looking for.
I’m looking at cushion cut stones between 1.2 and 1.3 carat, and my girlfriend wants a petite micropavé band. I’m trying to stay under $6500 total. I want good quality when it comes to the polish and symmetry, and something around 1.10 length to width ratio.
When it comes to color I initially thought I needed to stick with G or better, but would an H grade stone make much difference?
A front runner stone right now is on Blue Nile – stock number Blue Nile LD08209402. 1.2 Carat, H, VVS2, Very Good Cut, Excellent Polish, and Very Good symmetry. Diamond price is $4864 which seems like a good value for these specs.
Any red flags with this stone or is there something else you guys would recommend looking at?
Thanks!
Yes, an H color stone is perfect for cushion cut. It’s going to look colorless in any style of settings.
The diamond you found is beautiful. It’s very well cut and the best option I found on BN at the moment.

Bad news though… I was all set to place the order and it appears someone got the stone right before me as it’s no longer available.
Is there another you would recommend to get close to one I originally wanted? How about Blue Nile LD07564195? Faint fluorescence should not matter correct?
I’m sorry to hear that.
Yes, faint fluorescence on H color stone is perfect. Even medium is fine. https://www.diamonds.pro/education/fluorescence/
If you like this diamond, go for it. It’s another fantastic option. I hope everything works out well this time. Keep me posted.
Ok great. I’d had enough of looking so I just placed the order on Blue Nile. I used this same email address when ordering.
