Hi guys, I love your website and all of the useful information in it! I’ve been looking for rings for a while now, and I think I’ve narrowed it down to a few, could you take a look at this list and let me know what you think?
I’m looking for a round diamond for a solitaire mounting on a platinum ring. Here are the search parameters I’ve been mostly using on the online sellers:
Budget is between $5,000 and $6,000 for the diamond
Cut is excellent/ideal or better
Color is G-H (I’m thinking for maximum value)
Clarity is the one I’m kind of concerned with. I think I should be ok with VS1, but on the super zoom images, I can see EVERYTHING! I’m not sure if it will still be “eye-clean” or if I will need to go for a higher clarity.

Thanks for all the info in your email. For a simple solitaire setting, you can easily drop in color a few grades and it’ll still look fantastic. This way you can make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck.
Clarity grade is not that important as long as the diamond is eye-clean.

These look very nice (way nicer than the ones I found), I like that they are all eye-clean. The J color 1.20 carat one looks really good, but I’m a little concerned with the color. Do you think it will be noticeable on a platinum setting?

J color is our usual recommendation for a WG/PT solitaire setting and it looks great. That diamond will also have a lot of added brilliance thanks to its superb cut (it can actually appear whiter than some higher-colored diamonds with poor cut).
