Hi, I’ve been with my amazing girlfriend for 2 years now and am planning on popping the question late next month. I’m trying to find her the perfect ring and a newbie like me could use your experience.
I’d prefer keeping the total cost to 5,000 or under.
I’m definitely interested in a pave style setting in platinum and either a round or cushion cut diamond. I’m getting more and more interested in the cushion cut as I research more and more into this because of the size/cost differential compared to the round but I’m willing to take a look at both. The cushion cut would need to be on the ’rounded” side as well as something non “crushed ice”.
If you have any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
Given what you are looking for, this diamond is for you:
Its bright, eye-clean and a superb cut. What do you think?
Thanks for getting back so quickly! I think the diamond looks great, love the cut.
Is it true that a ~.9 carat round cut actually appears equal to, or larger than, a 1 carat cushion?
On that note, do you have any suggestions in that .9 carat range for a beautiful round cut so I could do a comparo? Much appreciated.
Yes, but they also cost a lot more so you won’t save money.

I suggest going with the style you prefer and not worry about the best ‘value’ when it comes to choosing the shape.
