PLATINUM PAVE TWIST DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING
Being placed in a platinum accented twist setting. Looking to know if you think this diamond will work well. Really curious for your opinion on cut, and how much brilliance sparkle and fire you think this might produce.
Looking for as optimal as a cut as I can to maximize this. Thanks!
I’m not a big fan of the depth of that table, but it’s not horrible. We like to keep it under or at 68% to get the most brilliance. If I were purchasing, I’d get this one instead:

It’s a bit bigger, also eye-clean, slightly better cut and it costs less. The LW ratio is also the same and it would look equally impressive.
Let me know what you think.
Thank you very much for the feedback and recommendation. I really like that one a lot! The one I had on hold would actually be on sale, because I was getting it with a setting. Not sure if you saw the sale that they had over the weekend, but it saved 25% on the setting with diamond over $5,000. So the one you recommended would actually be a couple hundred dollars more. I do really like it though.
You think the slight difference in cut would be worth that extra price in this case?
Theoretically, the difference in depth might be OK. Since it’s cheaper with the sale, you can give it a shot and see for yourself when it arrives. You always have a chance to exchange it for a different diamond.
I also noticed that they started a new sale today, so the one you recommended would actually have been cheaper, haha.
Do you think this one is better?
That is the next best one there: www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.22-carat-h-color-vs2-clarity-sku-5755877?a_aid=dmnd1357
Good diamonds get sold quickly. I checked all the other options there, but the one you found was the best one within the square ones. I suggest going for it.
I think I will.
Thanks so much!
