Q&A: Choosing a Center Diamond for a Rose Gold or Yellow Gold Solitaire Setting Within a $1,500 Budget

By Mike Fried,

Hi,

My friend suggested your service to me. He recently successfully bought a ring with your help and I am looking for the same 🙂

As probably most of your clients I have pretty much zero clue of what I want to buy. I checked though your website as well as Bluenile.com. My budget is somewhere around 1.5k Euro.

The only thing I saved to my bookmarks is the following ring. I understand that this type of (designer) ring is out of budget for me, but at least something for the reference. It probably means I “like” rose gold. As for diamonds I have no idea.

Monique Lhuillier Classic Solitaire Engagement Ring

Please help 🙂

I’d be happy to recommend some nice options for you. Are you looking for a round diamond? And as for the setting, should it be a rose gold solitaire (no additional diamonds in the band)? I just wanted to confirm.

Yes, I assume I don’t need additional diamonds in the band. So far I liked rose gold the most.

I assume the form of a diamond depends on ring design. Also I assume certain ring design implies minimal size of the diamond. But judging from examples I’ve seen on your website the answer is – yes, I am probably looking at round diamond

Thank you for the info, it helped a lot.

I found the following options:
Rose Gold Engagement Rings

Blue Nile LD13086773
Blue Nile LD13095061

These two diamonds are beautifully cut and either of them will make an amazing ring.

Sorry for the late reply, it took we some time to think. Now I will be opting for yellow gold (I know size now) and I think I don’t see difference between two offered diamonds (but now both are unavailable)
Can you please compile the similar proposal with yellow gold and diamonds?

Thank you for the update.

Here’s a selection of yellow gold rings:

and a beautiful diamond to pair the setting with:
Blue Nile LD13093230

I checked the rings and the following seems to work fine for me.
East-West Solitaire Engagement Ring

Any considerations I should be aware of? Does this ring work with the diamond you suggested?

Just checked though the prices and it seems that diamond price could be very different for the same size. Probably we are looking at the best possible options? Is the difference visible for regular person?

That’s a beautiful setting (I like the band and the prongs being made of the same metal). It’s going to work very well with the diamond I sent you.

As for the diamond itself, I used very strick filters (cut, eye-cleanliness, fluorescence, culet) to make sure I pick the best and best priced option that’s currently available for your budget. But if you came across some diamonds you’d like to ask me about, feel free to send me the links, I’ll take a look.

OK, let’s assume I am now ready to submit the order, how is it going to happen?

All you need to do is put everything in your shopping cart and proceed to the checkout. Or you can message/call their customer service and they’ll do it for you.

Let me know how it goes.

I started to compile my order and suddenly realized the diamond is no longer available. Could you please help to find a similar offer? I will proceed to purchase immediately.

Of course, here you go:
