Hello, I’m interested in purchasing a round diamond ring that is approximately two carats. My budget is about $15,000. I plan to go with a platinum, petite solitaire 4-prong setting similar to
Blue Nile Petite Solitaire Engagement Ring
Can you make any recommendations? Do you think $15,000 is a reasonable budget for a decent diamond?
Thanks very much for your help!
Is there a reason you settled on BN? We are not fans of them at all. https://www.diamonds.pro/reviews/blue-nile/
Thanks for getting back to me. I’m not particularly set on BN. I was just using that link to show an example of the type of setting I’m looking for. I’m generally open to other sellers (though I have noticed BN diamonds are generally cheaper when comparing with James Allen and controlling for the 4c’s). Thanks.

Also, to follow up further. My gf prefers a low-depth diamond because she doesn’t want the stone to jut out too much from her finger.
She would also want the setting to not have the diamond jut out too much as well. She also prefers a thin band. Thanks!
The problem is that you can’t buy a diamond under VVS from BN as they don’t offer high quality photos. So yes, a VVS diamond from BN may be cheaper than a VVS diamond from JA. But an eye-clean SI diamond from JA will be vastly cheaper than a VVS from BN.
What do you think of this?
Thanks! I actually had my eye on that diamond so your recommendation confirmed it for me. I just ordered the loose diamond and informed the customer service rep that you helped me. Thanks again for your help.
Thanks so much. Please let me know how it looks when it arrives.
