Would you please advise me. I am looking for a 2ct emerald cut solitaire to be set in yellow gold.
On James Allen, the candidates appear to be:

www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/2.02-carat-g-color-vs1-clarity-sku-4689053?a_aid=dmnd1357
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/2.02-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-384526?a_aid=dmnd1357
And I was thinking of 14K YELLOW GOLD VINTAGE INFINITY ENGAGEMENT RING as the setting. I would like to be advised on settting as well as the stone because I don’t know which type of setting is best for showing off the diamond.
At Brilliant Earth, there is a stone 2635221A and setting BE1D0832-18KW.
Could you tell me what you think of these stones and settings?
I’m really sorry, but I won’t comment on Brilliant Earth’s products. We find their company distasteful and can’t recommend them to people. https://www.diamonds.pro/reviews/brilliant-earth/
As for the three diamonds from JA, I’d go with the second one:
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/2.02-carat-g-color-vs1-clarity-sku-4689053?a_aid=dmnd1357
The black windowing effect is the least pronounced there and the overall specs are great.
However, I’d go even lower in color for the setting you chose:

www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/2.01-carat-i-color-vs1-clarity-sku-4893321?a_aid=dmnd1357
These two diamonds would look identical when it comes to color and you’ll save a lot.
The setting is beautiful. Generally speaking, the fewer side diamonds, the more the center stone stands out. You picked a perfect one for this. And if you like the style, it’s all good.
JA sold the diamond I was looking at but there is this one now:

Your thoughts?
I wouldn’t go with that one because of the medium fluorescence on a G color. It usually causes a hazy/milky look even though it’s not visible on the screen. https://www.diamonds.pro/education/fluorescence
The I color ones are still my favorites
I was thinking of going bigger:
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/2.51-carat-i-color-vs1-clarity-sku-4857172?a_aid=dmnd1357
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/2.40-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-5021264?a_aid=dmnd1357
I don’t recommend either one.
1) IGI isn’t a good lab. https://www.diamonds.pro/education/igi/
2) Strong fluorescence should be avoided on I+ diamonds. https://www.diamonds.pro/education/fluorescence/
What do you think of this one?

They sold that one 🙁
How do you feel about:

www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/2.30-carat-i-color-vs1-clarity-sku-5047369?a_aid=dmnd1357
The second one is gorgeous:

But it’s no longer available. Have you put it on hold?
Awesome! Yes, I put the 2.3ct on hold. Time to make that ring. Thanks!
Fantastic! Good choice.
