Hi, I have two questions. One is about a ring ( Plat, simple band 1 CT , VS1, I, GIA cert, excellent cut, polish and symmetry). I plan to upgrade from a smaller, but very well cut (masterpiece) stone.
How much should I expect to pay?
Secondly, I am looking for a pair of studs , about 1.5 ct total (0.7-0.75 each), I or better color and SI or better. Any recommendations? I have a pair that are 0.8 total, VS2 and H that I love.
I would appreciate your suggestions for a ring and studs. Thank you for putting together such an informative site! I wish I had stumbled upon it earlier.
Quick question to make sure we are on the same page. Do you want a round diamond? It seems you do, but I want to be sure.
As for the studs, I’d recommend these:

What do you think?
Thanks! Those are gorgeous studs.
I cant seem to get my head over having a stone in higher clarity. If I have to stay around $5000, would you suggest I go down in color or size to achieve a higher clarity?
And yes, I am looking for a round stone for my ring.
For the studs it makes no sense at all to go up in clarity. When people see your jewelry, they look at it in a natural way. For an engagement ring, you stick your hand out and people look at it from less than a foot away. So you need to be more careful with rings. For a studs, unless they are super creepy, they look at it from a bit of a distance. All they will see is the fire and brilliance. You need to worry about clarity, but not nearly as much as with a ring. Keep in mind that the photos are super magnified.
As for the ring, I LOVE this diamond:

It is absolutely fantastic. What do you think?
