Q&A: Choosing a 0.75 to 0.90 Ct. Round Diamond for a White Gold Solitaire Setting for Under $3,600

 Thanks for all of the help you’re providing via your website. I now feel like a 100x more informed consumer than I was before. That said, I’m still hoping to cash in on some expert advice.

Like most people who probably write you, I’m looking for the perfect diamond that meets the criteria for an engagement stone. I’m planning on a single white gold solitaire and want one round cut diamond with an amazing cut that will sparkle like crazy.

I’m trying to keep the stone budget to sub-$3,600 and am comfortable in the H-J and VS1-SI1 ranges with a desired carat weight somewhere in the 75-90 point scale. I’ve reviewed a few that seem pretty nice but would love a second opinion since I’m still no expert. My biggest issue is trying to understand what inclusions are truly noticeable to the naked eye, if any. What has caught my eye thus far:

Thanks. Is it safe to assume that they’re both eye clean? I have a hard time understanding which inclusions are and are not visible. I see a black spot in the first sample around 10:00 as you’re looking at it straight on one of the edges. If it’s nothing, it seems like a great option.
