Hi there! Since you are offering advice I thought I’d take you up on the offer.
I’m looking for the best .75 carat stone and setting I can get for about $5,000. I want a round stone and a simple platinum comfort setting (no knife edge or cathedral).
I looked At James Allen quite a bit but could not find a setting like I want.
Please help me if you can! Thanks.
Did you also check the settings on Blue Nile?
Blue Nile Setting Collection
They might have one that you like.
If so, this is the quality of diamond I’d recommend for this style of setting:
Blue Nile LD08051547
It’s very well cut and going to look colorless. https://www.diamonds.pro/education/color/
As you can see, there’s still a big space in your budget. Do you want to see a bigger stones, too?
What do you think?
Hi, I’ll read this tonight but I also found a few things on James Allen a friend recommended. Would you be willing to review those also? Of course I would give your site the credit!
Sure, if you find stones you like in particular send me their links. I’ll be happy to comment on them.
Hi Joy. Here are the 4 I have zeroed in on:

Thoughts?
The stones you found are all beautifully cut. The issue with the E and D color stones is their medium fluorescence. It’s completely fine on H and lower colors but it can cause a hazy look on high color grades.

I don’t think you need to pay extra for high color and clarity grades. That’s why I’d stick with my suggestion. But if you wish for such stone, this one is my favorite:

It’s the same size as the other F color stone and it’s less expensive.
Let me know what you decide.
This is the latest one I landed on, but I just noticed it has a strong florescence:

Is that bad for this diamond?
As I explained in my last email, strong fluorescence on high color stones can cause a hazy look. That’s why I don’t recommend purchasing this diamond.
Ok. I think I’ve settled on this one:

I’m happy we found what you were looking for. If you like it, go for it.
Let me know how you like the ring once it arrives.
