Hello, I am seeking advice on choosing an I or J color diamond for an engagement ring. I am less concerned with the “stats” regarding clarity and color, and I am primarily interested in choosing something that is near colorless and eye clean but in the largest possible size. Thus, I have been looking at both I & J color diamonds in the 2-carat range with the general budget of $15,000. I know that blue fluorescence can sometimes make these diamonds look a bit whiter, but when comparing the stones online I am at a bit of a loss.
The ring will be set in platinum with small diamonds on the band, though not around the diamond itself. As I said, ideally looking for something at 2-carats in that color range for $15K. Are there any that you could confidently recommend online? Looking to make a purchase in the very near future.
Thanks.
I would not recommend J color given your setting style. Stick with I+
What do you think of this one?
Thank you for the reply. I like the diamond that you linked, but I was not sure if it would have noticeable yellow in person. Also, I noticed it is an SI2 and while the only thing I noticed on the face is a small nick, I wasn’t sure how apparent that would typically be in person. Do you think any of the following would be a good value, or do you think your first suggestion would still be the best?
I’d go with the H color.
