Q&A: Choosing a 1 Ct. Asscher Cut Diamond for a White Gold Pavé Setting

Hi Diamond Pro, I love the insights on your site! I’m on the hunt for an Asscher cut diamond around one carat in the $4500-5000 price range. I found a couple on James Allen that I think look nice but am not too confident in one or the other:

Both diamonds look great and seem to be eye-clean. I can search their inventory and see if I can’t find something better. Can you just tell me what style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones, halo) and metal (yellow gold, white gold, platinum) you’re putting it in so I know which color to go with?

The sparkle on the Ritani diamond seems to be a bit better to me, but the face symmetry seems a bit off (wider angles on the right). Is there a discernible difference to you?

Yes, I have that one reserved and actually a second one too that I’m now trying to decide between. The 1.01 Carat looks even better to me but they look pretty even to be honest. Any advice on which to go with? Thanks!

The G VVS1 is slightly larger and cheaper so I would go with that one for sure. It’s a clear choice. Great job finding it.
