Hi there, I am in the market for an engagement ring. I am looking to buy in the next month or two and have a budget of around $8k. I am interested in a pear shaped diamond that weighs no less than 1.5 carats. Here is an example of a stone she really likes:
Would love to take you up on your services when you are available.
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
I am considering a single halo setting with a pave band. Not sure about micro pave or regular pave. I am also leaning more towards a fairly thin halo rather than a larger/thicker one. Center stone of course being a pair shaped diamond. I would like to get an idea of the total carat weight of the smaller diamonds. I am aiming for a total carat weight of 2.0 including the center stone.
This would be my recommendation for you:
Its a better size, gorgeous and an excellent value. What do you think?
I like it. My only concern is the inclusions. Was hoping for something that was a little more eye clean. Would be okay spending a little more for same weight and better clarity if possible. I like how the bow tie is minimal. Forgot to mention that having a minimal bow tie is very important. Good job.
Any other recommendations with this in mind?
I am fairly certain its eye-clean. You can ask JA’s gemologist to inspect it to make sure. This was the next diamond I found for you:
