I was for assistance and expertise in finding an engagement ring for my girlfriend on jamesallen.com. She’s 5′ tall and petite, therefore, I don’t want to pick out something that will look too big on her finger.
I’m looking to spend $6,000 – $7,000 combined with the ring and Platinum solitary setting. I would like to purchase a quality stone that looks good to the eye if not better. I was thinking anywhere from .70 – 1.0.
As far as the setting I was thinking a simple prong setting that could compliment the stone.
I would greatly value your imput.
It looks like you can save money for more important things. Given your parameters, you can get a beautiful diamond for far less than 7k.

What do you think of these? You can pair either one with a nice setting like this:
What do you think?
Thanks for the response! I like your selections.. I was also looking at this stone
The setting was my selection as well. I’m currently working with the James allen design team (add a split 4 prong to that band). My girlfriend likes the tiffany style band, however, she recently discovered that she likes the look of the split 4 prong. She thinks it give the round cut diamond a little bit of a squared look. And a princess cut is too square for her taste.
Also, I’m waiting for her to finish looking at more ideas at local stores. She interested in looking at cushion cuts (I was surprised by this). I’ll hopefully have more details soon. Thanks for your help!
That diamond is nice, but I think its a waste of money. We don’t think its worth spending extra for True Hearts. So you are getting a smaller diamond for a bit more money.
