Q&A: Buying Oval Cut Diamond on $6K Budget in Australia

I live in Sydney, Australia and I am looking to buy an oval engagement ring online. I’ve heard lots about James Allen so I jumped onto their website and found this… 1.60 Carat K-VVS2 Very Good Cut for $5,950. I am 5’10” so I have fairly long thin fingers so the ovals suit me best.

I realise that to get a bigger diamond I am going to have to make sacrafices on colour etc as my budget is $6k. Do you think I am making a mistake please?

To me this diamond looks nice in the picture, but i’m looking forward to your opinion!
